I use evidence based cognitive behavioral therapies that include mindfulness and self compassion techniques. I help families and individuals heal and grow.
Experience
Prior to graduate school, I helped assess participants in the Golden Bear Sleep and Mood Research Clinic at Berkeley University in a study for people who experience sleep difficulties related to bipolar disorder. During graduate school, I received training at a juvenile detention center, the Veteran’s Administration (including an outpatient clinic, a trauma residential facility, and an inpatient unit), an adolescent residential facility, and a university clinic. My research was conducted through a couples conflict lab at Baylor University. My internship was at Hutchings Psychiatric Center, where I received training in a clinic and an inpatient unit for children and adolescents. I received my PsyD from Baylor University in 2016. My postdoctoral training was through a private practice in NYC (Soho CBT + Mindfulness Center) where I helped adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families. During these experiences, I utilized cognitive behavioral therapy to help manage symptoms related to depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, anxiety, trauma, OCD, and insomnia. Finally, I have provided family therapy in all of the settings with children or adolescents.
After completing my training, I have gained additional experience in adolescent group homes, a child and adolescent foster care clinic, and the SUNY Upstate Medical University Counseling Center. I have supervised psychology graduate students in cognitive behavioral therapies and assessments.
